ECOFECT – ECO-EVOLUTIONARY DYNAMICS OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES - won the call for projects "Laboratoires d’Excellence 2011" issued by the "Investments for the Future" programme of the French Government.
The ambition of ECOFECT is to be able to promote innovative fight strategies against infectious diseases by putting the pathogen in the complexity of its environment.
ECOFECT builds a new expertise, based on complementarity of different communities of excellence in Lyon: on the one hand virologists, bacteriologists, immunologists and clinicians, on the other hand ecologists and evolutionists. It gathers together some 150 researchers.
